Ashoka’s Young Scholars Programmes (YSP) are certified, summer, residential programmes, designed to give motivated students in classes 9,10,11 & 12 an exposure to a liberal arts & sciences education at the college level. We are offering 3 multidisciplinary programmes options during the summer break.
Courses
YSP General: is a 5-day certified programme, introducing students to the width & depth of a multidisciplinary liberal arts education. The intensive & experiential programme includes lecture sessions across 9 academic disciplines, discussion groups, 21st century skill workshops, interactions with leading professors, industry leaders and counselors as well as numerous opportunities for social, creative & sports pursuits.
YSP Sciences: is a 5-day certified programme, offering high school students an early exposure to the different Science disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Maths) at the college- level through engaging discussions on cutting edge topics in these fields. YSP Sciences is an ideal programme for high school students looking to pursue their higher studies in the Science streams. Students get access to advanced software, labs & equipment under the expert guidance of Ashoka’s reputed Science faculty. Discussion groups and break-out sessions give students opportunities to apply their learnings to develop & create solutions to challenging real-world problems.
YSP Computer Science (YSP-CS): is a certified, 5- day, residential programme designed for students in grades 9,10,11 & 12 interested in the field of computer science and its allied disciplines. YSP-CS provides students a deeper and wider exposure to the discipline in line with Ashoka’s multidisciplinary approach to higher education. Taught by a globally renowned & experienced faculty (details below), the programme is designed to inspire, motivate and prepare students for higher studies, whether at the senior secondary school or college level or even for life beyond. Given the foundational nature of computer science today across fields of study and in our daily lives, the programme is equally relevant for students who may pursue other disciplines but seek a better understanding of cutting-edge technologies that are transforming the future. The programme does not require students to have any prior CS experience.
YSP Advanced (General + Sciences) or YSP Advanced (General+ Computer Science)
A 10-day certified programme on campus. The academic & personal enrichment over the 10-day period covering an interdisciplinary exposure across the liberal arts, CS & sciences disciplines not only prepares students better for higher studies but for life beyond.

Eligibility:
- High school students from throughout India and across the world are eligible to apply.
- Students should be in class 9,10, 11 or 12 while they are attending the programme, i.e. in May 2023.
- Students who have appeared for class 12th board exams are also eligible for YSP.
- Students should be comfortable with written & spoken English, which will be the medium of instruction for the programme
- Applicants will need to fill an online form submitting their high school marks and write an essay. They should be able to demonstrate intellectual curiosity and have the ability to explore different ideas. Classes will be held as per Indian Standard Time (IST).
How To Apply:
- Step 1: Review the Eligibility Criteria
- Step 2: Prepare application components
- Keep scanned copies of your school mark sheets for the previous grade/class.
- Draft, review and refine your essay
- Keep your details handy for the online application fee payment
- Step 3: Fill the online application form, click on the ‘application fee’ tab, which will take you to the payment window to complete the INR.500/- (Rupees five hundred only) application fees payment. Application fees is non-refundable.
- Step 4: Once the fees has been paid, click ‘review’ to check all details. Once checked, click ‘submit’ to submit your form.
- Step 5: Check your inbox for a YSP confirmation receipt that indicates a successful application. Confirmation emails would usually arrive within 24-48 hours of submission, due to occasional delays in payment processing.
- Step 6:. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and decisions to accept/ reject your application are normally released within 2 weeks of application submission. For example, if your application confirmation is sent to you on Jan 9, 2023, the decision email would reach you on or before Jan 23, 2023. Due to limited seat availability, we encourage you to apply early to secure a seat in the programme.
- Step 7: If your application is accepted, the admission confirmation email will provide a link for payment of the programme fees. Programme fees are INR 45,000/- for the YSP General ( 5-day), INR 45,000/- for the YSP Sciences, NR 45,000/- for the YSP Computer Science, INR 70,000/- (10-day) for YSP Advanced (General+ Sciences), and INR 70,000/- (10-day) for YSP Advanced (General+ Computer Science)
Programme fees are required to be paid within 5 days of receiving the admission acceptance email. For example, if the admission acceptance email is received on Jan 23, you are required to make the payment by Jan 28 (midnight). In case of delays in payment of the programme fees beyond the 5-day period, Ashoka reserves the right to cancel the offer for admission and offer the seat to another applicant.
Step 8: Post receipt of payment for the program, you will receive a detailed document/guide on the course and other details.
