Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi Commercial Pilot License Course is for the students who want to pursue their career in aviation. Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) offers 18 months (may get extended) course for Commercial Pilot License which is also famous as CPL.
Courses Offered:
- IGRUA offers Ab-initio to CPL Course for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft.
Eligibility:
- Marks: Must have passed English, Maths & Physics with minimum 50% marks at 10+2 or equivalent in individual subjects.
- Marital Status: Single, UNMARRIED
- Height – Minimum 158 cms and Maximum 185 cms.
Important Notes:
- In case SC/ST/EWS and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.
- Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 03 years. As of now 40 seats are available on merit basis.
- Candidates awaiting result for 2023 Class 12 Examination can also apply but they have to produce pass result with requisite marks in the subjects mentioned in para 3 above, at the time of Interview / Aptitude Test.
- IGRUA has a tie up with FSTC for Type training on (A320/B737/ATR-72/Q-400) at their Gurugram or Hyderabad centers. It is mandatory for candidates who wish to undergo this particular training to indicate the same at the time of filling up the form for entrance exam.
Medical:

Boarding And Lodging:
- During CPL training at IGRUA: IGRUA is a fully residential institute having separate Hostels for Boys and Girls. Charges for Boarding and Lodging is approximately Rs. 15,000/- per month).
- During the Type Training at FSTC – Boarding & Lodging shall have to be arranged by the candidates at their own cost.
Selection:
Online Entrance Test, Pilot Aptitude Test and Viva/Interview in the following manner:-
- Online Entrance Exam:
At allotted centers on 14th May 2023 (Sunday at 13:30 hrs)
Examination Centers : Please check Options for centers. Option for three centers is to be made giving first, second and third choice. IGRUA reserves the right to cancel any Center if numbers of Applicants for the Center are inadequate.
Syllabus for Online Test : General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs (10+2 level objective type questions only and No negative marking )
Relaxation of qualifying Marks in Online Test: The cutoff marks for SC/ST/EWS/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cutoff marks secured by the last candidate in the General category.
b) Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test : - Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for Interview/Viva. - No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/EWS/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test.
- Interview / Viva : All short listed Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original as well as one photocopy of each document at the time of interview ( starting from 27 Jun 2023, Tuesday onwards )
(i) Proof of Date of Birth ( Birth Certificate/ 10th Class certificate )
(ii) 10+2 Mark sheet
(iii) Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS Candidates issued within last one year.
(iv) A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer.
(v) A Certificate from an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar that the candidate falls under EWS category.
(vi) Admit Card Downloaded for Written Test
d) Admission charges and Commitment Money: All Selected Candidates including SC / ST / EWS / OBC will be required to pay:
(i) Admission charges (Non refundable) Rs.50,000/-.
(ii) Commitment Money of Rs.2.0 Lacs - Non refundable but adjustable against training fee. (iii) The last date for above payments is 27th July 2023 to secure seat on first come first serve basis.
