Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was established on 9th August, 2005 at Ludhiana through Punjab Act no. 16 of 2005. Initially, the College of Veterinary Science (established in 1969), was shifted from Punjab Agricultural University to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. After starting functioning on 21st April, 2006, the university has achieved remarkable milestones in academics as well as research and development (R&D); and has been placed among the top Veterinary and Agricultural Universities in the country since 2017, with international brand value. With an excellent organizational set up as below, GADVASU is playing an instrumental role in holistic development of animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries sectors of the State through an integrated 3-tier approach including human resource development, R&D and technology transfer.
Courses Eligibility and Admission Procedure
B.V.Sc. & A.H. Merit of eligible applicants will be prepared based on the NEET (UG) - 2023 Rank/Score.
Eligibility
1. The candidate should have a minimum qualification of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a Board/University recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India with at least 50% marks (47.5% for SC/ST, BC and DP categories) in aggregate excluding the optional subject(s).
2. Candidates securing equal to or more than the NEET (UG) - 2023 cut-off marks as per category, will be considered for admission. This cut off may be reduced during subsequent counselling(s).
3. Candidates seeking admission under Self-Financed category/Category-II will have to fulfill eligibility requirements of the General category (State Quota/ Category-I) specified during the admission process. NEET (UG) - 2023 cut-off marks for Self- Financed category/Category-II may be specified separately during the admission process. 4. Breaking of Tie in the Merit List: “One candidate One rank” criteria of NEET (UG) - 2023 Merit List will be followed.
B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)
Eligibility Qualification for Admission The Candidate should have a minimum Qualification of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from any recognized Board of school education in the country, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST, BC and DP categories) in aggregate excluding the optional subjects(s).
Mode of Admission Merit Basis in 10+2 (Non-Medical) in aggregate of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English marks
Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.)
Eligibility Qualification for Admission The Candidate should have a minimum Qualification of 10+2 (Medical) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from any recognized Board of school education in the country, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST, BC and DP categories) in aggregate excluding the optional subjects(s).
Mode of Admission Merit Basis – Marks (%) obtained in 10+2 (Medical) in aggregate of Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English marks
B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
Eligibility Qualification for Admission The Candidate should have a minimum Qualification of 10+2 (Medical) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from any recognized Board of school education in the country, with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST, BC and DP categories) in aggregate excluding the optional subjects(s).
Mode of admission Merit followed in order by 10+2 (Medical) and 10+2 (Non-Medical) in aggregate of Biology/ Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English marks
