6 Best Movies for School Students: Watch for Inspiration!

  1. Forest Gump
  2. TaareZameen Par
  3. The Karate Kid
  4. 3 Idiots
  5. Dead Poets Society
  6. Inside Out

Forrest Gump

Director: Robert Zemeckis.

Cast: Tom Hanks , Robin Wright , Gary Sinise , Mykelti Williamson , and Sally Field .

A 1994 American movie, Forrest Gump is named after its protagonist, Forrest Gump, who is a loyal and serious child with leg braces. It is a comedy-drama film, which has manifolds of phases and twists and turns which can be very exciting to watch. It is directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth.

The movie shows the great resilience of a child, who is often bullied by his classmates but finds ways to protect himself by running away or escaping. The little boy has a great IQ and reflects back on his life while sitting on a bench and narrating his life’s stories to a complete stranger.

TaareZameen Par

Director: Aamir Khan

Cast Aamir Khan, DarsheelSafary, TanayChheda, Vipin Sharma, and Tisca Chopra.

The movie majorly is a spotlight on the life and development of little Ishaan (played by DarsheelSafary), who is considered to be a little different from the other children in his school or circle. Ishaan is 9 years old in the movie and loves art, but continues to perform poorly in academics, which leads his parents to send him to boarding school.

The movie sends a strong message to young people about overcoming fears and talking to people about the things that trouble them. At boarding school, IshaanAwasthi has a disabled friend who prevents him from committing suicide when he plans on doing it someday after being troubled by some issues.

The Karate Kid

Director: HaraldZwart .

Cast: Jaden Smith ,Jackie Chan.

Miyagi taught Daniel that nature itself had imposed the rule, “First learn stand, then learn fly.” He said this to teach the young, impulsive Daniel to have patience with his progress. Mastery takes time and discipline: the fundamentals must become second nature before you can attain more complex techniques.

3 Idiots

Director: RajkumarHirani.

Cast: AamirKhan , R. Madhavan , Sharman Joshi , KareenaKapoor , Omi Vaidya ,and BomanIrani .

3 Idiotsis another great Hindi/Bollywood movie with Aamir Khanagain as one of the actors. The movie is centred around friendships in college. Even though it doesn’t have any connection to school per se, it’s still a good watch for school students to prepare for the coming college days.

There are many ups and downs in the movie (which makes it a great rollercoaster-like masterpiece) and you can sometimes even feel like bawling like a baby because of how rich it is in emotions.

Dead Poets Society

Director: Peter Weir.

Cast: Robin Williams ,Robert Sean Leonard , Ethan Hawke.

The movie is set in a fictional boarding school called Welton Academy, where John Keating (Robin Williams) is an English teacher who has very unconventional methods of teaching poetry to his students. The scene is set in Vermont where the students eventually learn how their teacher was a part of the ‘Dead Poets Society’ once.

Inside Out

Director :Pete Docter

Cast :Amy Poehler ,  Phyllis Smith , Bill Hader , Lewis Black , Mindy Kaling.

Inside Out portrays the idea that while people may think they need to be happy all the time, that is not true. Instead, the film encourages the full spectrum of emotions, conveying that they all are an essential part of life and there is nothing wrong with feeling sad.

Rather than trying to “fix” emotions, we should accept them and process them as they present themselves to us.
