GMCH Chandigarh BOptom, PTT & BSc Paramedical Admission 2018 - Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) Chandigarh offers admission into Bachelor of Clinical Optometry (B.Optom), B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology), B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray), B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques) and Pre Hospital trauma technician (PTT) in Govt. Medical College, Chandigarh for the session 2018-19 .

- Admission to these courses will be strictly on the basis of rank/merit obtained in GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2018) to be conducted by Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh
Eligibility Criteria :
B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-RAY) Course (3 years Course) :
- A person who has passed 10+2 exam in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
- A person who passed 10+2 vocational course (X-Ray Techniques) in all the vocational course subjects of Radiation Physics, Radiography-I General, Radiography-II Special, Biology & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University.
- A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc. Medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University.
- A person holding qualification of diploma in Radiography/X-ray Techniques must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with Science (physics, chemistry and biology) subjects.
B.Sc. Medical Technology (Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques) (3 years Course) :
- A person who has passed 10+2 exam in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University
- A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc. medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University
- A person holding qualification of diploma Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible provided he/she joined diploma course after passing 10+2 exam with science (physics, chemistry & biology)
B.OPTOM (4 years Course) :
- A person who has passed 10+2 examination in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University
- A person who has passed 10+2 Vocational Course (Ophthalmic Technique) in their respective elective subjects and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by recognized Board/Council / University
- A person who has passed Part –I of B.Sc. Medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University
- A person holding qualification of diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques (2 or 3 years) must have obtained with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates from any recognized Board/Council/University shall also be eligible
B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (4 years) :
- A person who has passed 10+2 exam in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University
- Students appearing in 10+2 exam in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School will also be eligible provided they secure aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates
Scheme of Examination :
- The medium of GCET-2018 will be English only. Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will carry 1 (one) mark (maximum marks 100). There will be no negative marking. For all the courses, the duration of the entrance test will be of two hours
- Minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2018 for inclusion in the list of successful candidates are as: (a) General category: not less than 45% (b) SC category: not less than 40%
- For 10+2 (Medical Group i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate for all Courses:
- Syllabus will be of 10+2 standard equivalent to AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE - (i) Biology 50 Questions; (ii) Physics 25 Questions (iii) Chemistry 25 Questions (iv) For 10+2 (vocational stream) passed candidates & diploma in respective discipline
- B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) - Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Biology & Chemistry 35 questions; Lab Techniques 35 questions; (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology& Histopathology)
- B.Sc. Medical Technology (X-Ray) - Anatomy and Physiology 30 questions; Radiation Physics & Biology 35 questions; Radiographic Techniques 35 questions
- B.Optom - Biology-Ophthalmic 30 questions; Optics 35 questions and; Ophthalmic Techniques 35 questions
Selection Process :
The selection will be made on the basis of rank/merit obtained in the GMCH Combined Entrance Test 2018 (GCET-2018) to be conducted by Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh .

- Candidate has to fill online application form available at GMCH website www.gmch.gov.in
- Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions carefully, published in the newspapers/prospectus and then fill in the online application form.
- Before applying for any course, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute.
