The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, is leading Institute of Higher Education and a deemed to be university, offering degree programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Pharmacy, Management and Humanities. This web site describes the admission modalities for the on-campus degree programmes offered at Pilani campus, Goa Campus and Hyderabad Campus of BITS, Pilani. They have an International campus as well, which is in Dubai.
About the test
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, conducts it’s own entrance exam by the name of BITSAT for admission into their various courses. BITS Pilani invites applications to register for BITSAT-2024, the only online admission test for admissions to Integrated first degree (B.E., B.Pharm, and M.Sc.) programmes in its campuses at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

- Integrated First Degree - 4 years (8 semesters)
- Dual Degree – 5 years to 5 ½ years (10 to 11 semesters)
Eligibility Criteria
- Admissions in Bachelors of Engineering Course: Candidate should have passed 12th with minimum 75% in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry and adequate proficiency in English. (Individual Aggregate – minimum 60%)
- Admissions in Bachelors of Pharmacy Course: Candidate should have passed 12th with minimum 75% Physics, Chemistry & Biology / Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English. (Individual Aggregate – minimum 60%)
- Direct admission to Board Toppers: This offer of admission is open only to the student who has obtained the first rank in the board, as per the announcement by the Board.
- Through International Student Admission Scheme: Admissions here will be based on SAT score.
NOTE - Only Students who are appearing for the 12th examination in 2024 or who have passed the 12th Examination in 2023 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2024 test.
Exam Pattern
Each session of BITSAT-2023 will be of 3 hours duration (without break), comprising the following 4 parts:
Admissions in Bachelors of Engineering Course -
- Paper I – Physics
- Paper II – Chemistry
- Paper III – (a) English Proficiency (b) Logical Reasoning
- Paper IV – Mathematics
Admissions in Bachelors of Pharmacy Course -
- Paper I – Physics
- Paper II – Chemistry
- Paper III – (a) English Proficiency (b) Logical Reasoning
- Paper IV – Mathematics / Biology
NOTE - The BITSAT-2024 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for the 11th and 12th class. The detailed syllabus is given in the Annexure. Candidates may refer to the NCERT textbooks for the contents.
There will be 130 questions in all. The number of questions in each part is as follows:
