About Us
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare , Government of India. Formerly known as Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, it was established on 16 July 1929 as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in pursuance of the report of the Royal Commission on Agriculture. The ICAR has its headquarters at New Delhi.
The Council is the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country. With 113 ICAR institutes and 74 agricultural universities spread across the country this is one of the largest national agricultural systems in the world. It is engaged in cutting edge areas of science and technology development and its scientists are internationally acknowledged in their fields.
About CUET & NTA
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is being introduced via ICAR for admission into Agricultural Courses (except BSc Vet Sc & Animal Husbandary) for UG Programmes in various Central Universities for Academic session 2024-25 under the Ministry of Education, (MoE). The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG - ICAR UG 2024 will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas, and help establish better connections with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities. The Role of NTA is confined to the registration of candidates, the conduct of the test, hosting of answer keys, inviting challenges, finalizing answer keys, preparing and declaring results, and hosting Score Card.

Eligibility Criteria
-
Candidate should have studied and passed 12th or equivalent qualifying examination with minimum 50% marks with at least three subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Agriculture as core courses.

Candidate(s) are not allowed to appear in subject combination different than the one which s(he) studied and passed in 12th standard. Such cases will not be considered for counselling / admission and will be rejected.
Selection Process
The candidate(s) should fulfill the eligibility critera and appear for The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG - ICAR UG 2024 to be eligible for Admission in the Agricultural Universities under ICAR.
