About Us
SVKM's Mithibai College of Arts and Chauhan Institute of Science was established in1961 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal to address the growing need for institutions of higher education in the western suburbs of Mumbai.
With growing demand, Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce & Economics was instituted in 1981. The college has been granted linguistic minority status for the Gujarati community. From a modest two-storey building, the college has now grown to a nine- storey edifice that towers over the landscape of Juhu. The college has 22 departments associated with the faculties of Arts, Science & Commerce. There are 16 Post Graduate programs and 10 Research Centres offering Ph.D. programmes. The college is a recipient of grants under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA-2), DBT and DST.
Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal was established in the year 1934 for the purpose of providing school level education to the residents of Vile Parle and the surrounding areas. Twenty five years later, as the Mandal celebrated its Silver Jubilee; suggestions were received from the members to make arrangements to provide college level education too. The absence of colleges run by Gujarati Managements in nearby suburbs compelled our students to go through daily commute to colleges in South Mumbai which was becoming more difficult day by day.
The Managing Committee decided in principle to start, a Commerce College in the campus of the Mandal in the JVPD scheme area of Vile Parle. Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics was thus established in 1964.

Selection Process

The Candidate must fullfil the eligibility criteria to be eligible for admissions and the admission is on the basis of 12th Class Merit and as per the Reservation policy of Govt. of Maharashtra.

The Candidate has to enter total marks of all subjects for which he has appeared (aggregate percentage).

We do not consider percentage like 'BEST OF FOUR' or 'BEST OF FIVE' subjects.

Candidates who wish to seek admission here at Mithibai College and Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics must fill up a Pre-Enrollement form which is available at the University of Mumbai's website - https://muugadmission.samarth.edu.in/

Candidate must register themselves online on the college website by making a single user ID on portal and select the desired colleges & courses under.

Candidates must save both the pplication forms for later use.

Candidates are required to make the mandatory online payment of Rs 100-/- as admission processing fees failing to which will not be considered for Merit List generation 7 for admission.

Candidate must ensure that the email-ID provided is authentic and operational one. The same will be used to send important information/ announcements/ admit card/ examnination results and documents. In case of correct email ID provided, the college will not be responsible for non-delivery of the relevant information.
