About Us
Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh, (AMRU) came into existence after the enactment of an Act by the State Legislature, ‘The Himachal Pradesh University of Health Sciences Act, 2017’ which was further amended in 2019 to rename the University in the name and style of Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh. The Government of Himachal Pradesh further notified to make the Headquarter of the University at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt. Medical College, Mandi, at Ner Chowk.
After the establishment of the University all the streams of medicines such as Modern System of Medicine, Dental Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy, various Para-medical disciplines such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy etc. will be affiliated with the University for the purpose of registration of students, regulations and conduct of examinations of all the academic courses and to award degrees and diplomas to the students in the State of Himachal Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be 12th pass or equivalent from recognised board.

The Female Children of Bonafide Himachali/ Himachal Govt. employees and employees of Autonomous bodies wholly or partially financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government will only be eligible to apply for admission.

For filling up of 50% Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided B.Sc. Nursing Colleges in State of Himachal Pradesh, there will be no requirement of being Himachali Bonafide. Under this quota, both Himachali and Non- Himachali interested candidates can compete in the entrance test subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualifications and age criteria as prescribed in the prospectus.
NOTE - The above candidates should be Indian National. -
The age of candidates should be between 17 to 35 years as on 31st, December 2024 i.e. the candidate should be born between 01.01.1990 and 01.01.2008. However, upper age can be relaxed by 5 years in the case of SC/ST candidates i.e. the candidates must have been born between 01.01.1985 and 01.01.2008. Age as recorded in the matriculation certificate will be entertained.

Admission to married candidates will be allowed subject to production of medical fitness certificate and candidate can only appear in final examination after 80 % attendance in theory and 100% in practical.
Selection Process

The Candidate (female) must appear for Entrance exam conducted by Atal Medical University, HP for admissions inn Nursing.
Exam Pattern
-
Syllabus - Physics, Chemistry ((including Organic Chemistry), Biology, English and Nursing Aptitude in accordance with the syllabi of studies based on NCERT books of the academic session according to which the 10+2 (includes 11 th and 12th classes) examination was conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education in the year of the Entrance Test.

The medium of examination shall be English.

The question paper will have 100 (One Hundred) MCQ objective type questions of one mark each. Each question shall have four options i.e. A, B, C& D. Out of which only one will be the correct option.

The duration of Entrance Test will be 2 hours.

There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

The question paper will be in English language only.
