Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) 2025

About Us

 

Admissions to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur are done through the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED). Many institutes also recognize the UCEED Score Card for admissions to their BDes program. The list of result sharing institutes using UCEED scores for admissions to their BDes program is available on the official UCEED website.

 

 

About the Test

 

UCEED 2025 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee 2025 (henceforth referred to as the UCI Committee). UCEED 2025 score is valid only for admission to the programmes in the academic year 2025-2026.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
  • Criterion 2 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. Note that the UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
  • Criterion 3 – Qualifying Examination: Candidate should be 12th pass or is currently in 12th & will pass in 2025, from Any Stream.

NOTE - Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2025.

 

Exam Pattern

 

PART A (Total marks: 200; Maximum time: 2 hours)

  • This part will be administered through a computer-based test.
  • This part will consist of three sections.

# Section 1:
NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 14 questions (4 marks each; no negative marks). For these questions, the answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices will be shown for these questions.
# Section 2:
MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 15 questions. Each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given.
# Section 3:
MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 28 questions (3 marks each for the correct answer; 0.71 negative marks for incorrect answers). Each MCQ will have four choices, out of which only one is the correct answer.

PART B (Total marks: 100; Maximum time: 1 hour)

  • Part-B consists of TWO questions to test the candidates’ Drawing Skills and Design Aptitude. This will require subjective evaluation. The questions in Part-B will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer must be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator.

  • The candidate must read the instructions carefully before filling up the registration form.

  • The Candidate must fill the registration form from the respective website -  www.uceed.iitb.ac.in .

  • The Registration Fee -
    > Female Candidate – Rs 2000.
    > All other Candidate – Rs 4000.
    >
    SC, ST, PwD Candidate – Rs 2000.

NOTE

  • The registration fees shown above do NOT include service charges, processing fees and/or any other charges that the banks may charge.
  • The above registration fee is applicable till the closing date of October 31, 2024, (11:55 PM).
  • A late fee of ₹ 500 is applicable to candidates registering after the closing date of October 31, 2024, and till the late registration closing date, i.e., November 08, 2024, (5:00 pm). It is not possible to register after 5:00 pm on November 08, 2024, as the online registration portal will close automatically.

Reporting Time

Candidates should report at the examination centre (as allotted in the admit card) at 7:00 am on Sunday, January 19, 2025, with a printout of the Admit Card and a Valid, Original Photo Identity Proof. This is required to record the biometric information (thumb impression and photograph) before appearing for the examination.
