About Us
Founded in 2014, Ashoka University provides world-class liberal education, pioneering interdisciplinary research in India. With an esteemed faculty led by Professor Ashwini Deshpande in Economics, it ranked first among private universities in the 2024 Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF).
Key founders include Ashish Dhawan, co-founder of Chrysalis Capital, and Pramath Raj Sinha, Founding Dean of ISB and Chairperson of the Board, along with notable figures like Sanjeev Bikhchandani and Vineet Gupta.
Ashoka excels in liberal arts research through centers such as the Centre for Economic Data Analysis (CEDA), CSBC, KOITA Centre for Digital Health, and the upcoming Trivedi Centre for Biosciences.
About the AUES
The Ashoka University Economics Society (AUES) takes Economics beyond the classroom, creating an inclusive space for students across disciplines to engage with global issues. Through events, research collaborations, and speaker sessions, AUES fosters critical thinking, making Economics accessible and relevant to all. Our members have acquired and completed internships at various prestigious organizations like BCG, BAIN&CO., DELOITTE, DE SHAW & CO, WHO, DALBERG AND THE WORLD BANK.

Competition Overview
- Stage 1 - Online Quiz
The 40-question quiz is to be completed in 60 minutes. The quiz will be conducted online on the Unstop platform.
Question Breakdown:
Microeconomics: (10 Questions)
Macroeconomics: (10 Questions)
General Knowledge: (10 Questions)
Quantitative Analysis: (10 Questions)
The top performers (20 overall) based on rankings, qualify for the next round
- Stage 2 - Group Discussion
The second stage will require four groups of 5 to engage in a 30-minute discussion on a specific economic topic provided prior to the discussion.
Preliminary Group Discussion: Each group will discuss their assigned topic, with one participant selected from each group to move forward.
Final Group Discussion: The top 4 participants will engage in a 30-minute discussion, showcasing their economic understanding.

- Winner – Fully funded YSP Scholarship
The Olympiad winner gets a full-ride scholarship worth INR 49,500 to Young Scholars Programme, India’s leading and most prestigious residential, certified high school summer programmes. (Applicable to YSP 2025 only)
- 1st Runners Up – Fully Funded Horizons
The 1st Runners Up will win a full-ride scholarship worth INR 25,960 to Ashoka Horizons Achievers Programme which offers immersive, certified, micro-courses and cover an extensive array of subjects and 21st-century skills. (Applicable to Summer 2025 only)
Certificates of Participation will be provided for all Round 1 participants and Certificates of Merit for qualifiers as well as winners.
