Maharashtra – Common Entrance Test (MAH-CET) 2025

About Us

 

The Government of Maharashtra has established "ADMISSIONS REGULATING AUTHORITY AND STATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST CELL" as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions & Fees) Act. 2015 (Mah. Act No. XXVIII of 2015), (herein after the Act).

MHT-CET-2025 Entrance Examination for Admission to Professional Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Pharmacy, B.Planning, M.Planning (Integrated) and Agricultural Education through State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai for the academic year 2025-26 will be held at the various examination centers within and outside Maharashtra State.

 

 

Courses Offered

 

  • Bachelors of Engineering & Technology (BTech)

  • Bachelors of Pharmacy (B Pharma)

  • Bachelors of Architecture (B Arch)

  • Bachelors of Planning (B Plan)

  • Agricultural Education

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • The candidate should be 12th pass with minimum 45 % & subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology.

  • Nationality – Indian only.

  • Maharashtra State Candidate - A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type i.e. from Type A to E.

 

TYPE

ELIGIBILITY

A

(i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State
(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra

B

A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.

C

A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

D

A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

E

Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi. The 865 village of Maharashtra Karnataka Border area notified by the State Government for this purpose shall be considered.

 

  • The Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
  • Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National – These types of Candidature Candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT-CET 2025.

 

Syllabus, Weightage and Pattern of Examination

 

  • Approximately 20% weightage will be given to Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to Std. XII curriculum while setting the question paper.

  • MHT-CET 2025 will consist of 3 question paper of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and each paper will be of 100 marks, Details are as given below:
