About Us

 

The Council of Architecture (CoA) is an autonomous statutory body of Ministry of Education, Government of India constituted under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972. This Act was enacted by the Parliament of India and came into force with effect from 1st September, 1972. The Act provides for registration of Architects, standards of education, recognized qualifications and standards of professional conduct and etiquette to be complied with by the architects.

 

 

About the Exam

 

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by COA since 2006, in terms of the provisions of CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, published in the Gazette of India. Further, the Council has prescribed the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, with the approval of the Central Government in terms of Sections 21 & 45 of the Architects Act, 1972. The Regulations were published in the Gazette of India on 11.08.2020 and came into force w.e.f. 01.11.2020. These Regulations prescribe that the candidate needs to qualify an Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by the Council for admission to the Architecture degree course.

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Candidate should have passed 12th with 50% in PCM (Mandatory).

 

 

Exam Pattern

 

The candidates can appear for maximum of 3 attempts in NATA 2025 in one academic year. The best score out of all the attempts shall be considered for declaration of results. The score of NATA Test would be valid for a period of 2 academic years. Examination shall be conducted on all weekends starting from April to July, 2025 in two sessions, subject to number of candidates registered for the session. The candidates need to indicate their preference for session & city of examination while registering at NATA portal.

  • PART A
    Drawing and Composition Test - Offline Test - 90 Minutes.

    > A1 : 1 Question – Composition and Color (25 Marks).
    > A2 : 1 Question – Sketching & Composition [Black & White] (25 Marks).
    > A3 : 1 Question - 3D Composition (30 Marks).


    Total 3 Questions - 80 Marks.
  • PART B
    MCQ - Computer Based Adaptive Test - 90 Minutes.

    > B1 : 42 questions - MCQ.
    > B2 : 08 questions - NCQ.
    Visual Reasoning, Numerial Reasoning, Logical Derivation, G.K., Architecture & Design, Language Interpretation, Design Sensitivity & Design Thinking.

    Total 50 Questions – 120 Marks.


    TOTAL MARKS : PART  A & PART  B (80 + 120) = 200.

NOTE – NATA 2025 will be conducted as a comprehensive Aptitude test consisting of Part A (Drawing & Composition) which will be in offline mode & Part B (MCQ – Multiple Choice Questions & NCQ – (No Choice Questions) which will be in ONLINE Adaptive Mode.

NOTE - The medium of Aptitude test shall be in English and Hindi.

  • The candidate must register themselves online on their respective website.

  • The candidate must pay their registration fees - Rs 1750.

  • The candidate must carefully read all the instruction before applying.

  • Multiple Application Forms submitted by the same candidate by changing the credentials will be rejected without any refund. The Council reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against such candidates.

NOTE - Candidates must bring with them:
> Downloaded Original Appointment Card of NATA-2025.
> Original Proof of Identity- Aadhaar/ Passport/ Driving License/ Voter ID/Valid Photo ID document.
> Pencils, erasers, dry colors, Scale (upto 15 Cms).
