About Us
The Indian Maritime University (IMU), headquartered in Chennai, was established on 14th November 2008 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. It was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieveexcellence in these areas. The oldest of the IMU Campuses i.e. IMU Navi Mumbai Campus was established in 1927. IMU has 6 Campuses at Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai Port , Navi Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be from a PCM Stream with overall 60% & minimum of 50% in English & must be 12th pass or equivalent. For BBA Program candidate can be from any stream with overall 60% & minimum of 50% in English & must be 12th pass or equivalent.

Valid IMUCET Rank for all UG programs except BBA. Valid CUET Score for BBA Program.

Maximum age: For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years For Female:General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years. The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (01.08.2025).

Admission Process
- The Candidate must appear for Entrance Exam – IMU-CET 2025 for all UG Courses except BBA.
- The Candidate must fill the IMU form & must appear for CUET 2025 & apply with Valid Score for BBA Program.

The Candidate must register themselves Online on their respective website for IMU - CET (UG) 2025 & on CUET UG 2025 for the respective courses.

The Candidate must pay their registration fee - Rs 1000 for IMU - CET (UG) - Technical Courses & Rs 200 for Non-Technical (BBA) Courses.
