About
The Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established on 14th November 2008 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters. It was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas

Eligibility Criteria
B.Sc (Nautical Science)
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.)
B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.)
B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.)
B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair)
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 50% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th / 12th Examination.)
BBA (Logistics, Retailing & E-Commerce)
- Academic Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent (Minimum 60% of Aggregate marks in any stream and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th and/or 12th Examination.)

How to Apply
- STEP 1: Register as a new user (Basic Registration and Detailed Registration)
- STEP 2: Fill in the required details, upload the documents
- STEP 3: Pay Application fee
Application Fee
- For SC/ST: 700 INR
- For all other category: 1000 INR
Selection Process
Selection on the basis of Entrance Exam for all courses except BBA Programme
Exam Pattern
- English
- General Aptitude
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
No of Question- 200 multiple choice questions.
There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
