About
Guru Nanak Dev University was established at Amritsar on November 24, 1969 to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is both a residential and an affiliating university. The University is successfully catering to twenty thousand students in various faculties at University Campuses and Constituent Colleges. Guru Nanak Dev University is the first University of the region which introduced on-line admissions to its courses, on-line counselling for State Level Admissions and Credit Based Evaluation System.

Eligibility Criteria
B.Sc Agriculture (hons)
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) or any other equivalent examination in Medical or Non-Medical subject with at least 50% marks(45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
BA (hons) Journalism & Mass Communication
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate at the time of application
BA (hons) Social Science
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate at the time of application
B.Com (hons)
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
B.Sc (hons) Economics
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
BTTM/ BHMCT
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
B.Tech courses
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
BA (hons)
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th Grade) or any other equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate & 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the subject of Punjabi.
B.Sc Botany (hons)
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) in Medical Stream with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) or any other examination recognized equivalent thereto by the University.
B.Sc (Medical Lab. Technology)
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) with Biology at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
B. Pharmacy
- Academic Qualification: Candidatte must have passed 10+2 examination with 50% Marks (45% for SC/ST) conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and/or Biology (P.C.B /P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually.
B.Arch
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
Bachelor of Planning
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) with Mathematics and English with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST).
Bachelor of Physiotherapy
- Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Senior Secondary Examination (12th grade) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate.
