Sociology is the scientific study of human society and its origins, development, organizations, and institutions. JOB TYPES
- Census Worker - helps to decide how to allocate funding for projects around the country. A census is different from a survey; while the census seeks to count the entire population, a survey typically only involves a cross-section of a population
- Public Sector Administrators - Sociology attempts to understand contemporary issues like crime, poverty and education through the study of institutions and groups of people, their relations with other groups and with individuals. The study of public administration focuses more on the professional work of making public institutions actually work.
- Information Scientist - The contribution of information scientists, in their attempts to structure social science information, raises certain questions about the epistemology of the social sciences. The writers examine these and some of the major problems related to the communication of information in sociology.
- Journalist – Sociological inquiries into journalism have considered journalism as the product of cultural, economic, political, and technological forces in different times and spaces. As part of (and like) the field of media sociology, the sociology of journalism is an interdisciplinary subfield.
- Media planners are hired to evaluate the advertising needs of clients and devise a focused media plan to optimize sales to different demographic groups. Sociology graduates are a good fit for this role because of the their ability to research, analyze and interpret the viewing preferences of their target audience
- Social Work/Public Services - These fields involve interaction with a group of people that might be facing a certain problem and a sociologist often has the eye for these problems. Not only can we offer an effective solution but a sociologist can also connect the community to various organisations such as World Bank, etc. that may help them with their problems. Charities and NGOs often have sociologists working with them.
- Consumer Relations - This is concerned with the society. A consumer is a part of the society and he may be a member of many groups in a society. A sociologist often has an understanding of the complexities of human nature and can apply the tools to understand the behaviour and formulate reports on it.
- Lecturer – The person who provide the complete information about the sociology.
- Researchers - Sociological research is: the systematic study of people, institutions, or social phenomena using measurement techniques such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, ethnography, or comprehensive analysis of texts. ... A sociologist uses a system, or a formal process through which we gather data
